Какво означава да се занимаваш с изкуство и какви са всички хаотични усложнения, които произтичат от този придобит - понякога легитимиран с диплома - “статус”? Разглеждането през призмата на абсурда може би е единственият удобен похват, чрез който можем да си отговорим.
Заигравката с тази призма, от своя страна, освобождава артиста да борави с каквато сплав от идеи реши и чрез каквито методи го осенят.
В това издание на The Artist at Play 8 артисти боравят с неизбежния абсурд, за да осмислят собственото си преживяване като творци.
Те представят произведения, изпълнени със своите отговори, които могат да оставят след себе си и лек горчив вкус.

The Artist At Play е общност от млади артисти и куратори. Инициативата започва през 2023 г. с организирането на поп-ъп събития. Основната цел на платформата е да създаде пространство, в което младите артисти да могат да се срещат, подкрепят и вдъхновяват взаимно. През 2025 г. TAAP стартира паралелна кураторска програма, която има за цел да стимулира общността с нови идеи и перспективи.
Събитието е спонсорирано от Нов български университет.

What does it mean to be involved in art, and what are all the chaotic complications that arise from this acquired—sometimes legitimized by a diploma—“status”? Viewing it through the prism of absurdity is perhaps the only convenient approach through which we can answer this question.
Playing with this lens, in turn, frees the artist to work with whatever mix of ideas they choose and with whatever methods come to mind.
In this edition of The Artist at Play, eight artists engage with the inevitable absurdity in order to make sense of their own experience as creators.
They present works filled with their answers, which may leave behind a slightly bitter taste.

The Artist At Play is a community of young authors and curators. The initiative began in 2023 with the organization of pop-up events. The main focus of the platform is to create a space in which young artists can meet, support and inspire each other. In 2025, TAAP began a parallel curatorial program, which aims to stimulate the community with new ideas and perspectives.

The Artist At Play Vol: Абсурдът на артиста

This January, join us for our first encounter with Serbia's documentary film scene. We'll meet Aron Sekelj, a Belgrade-born filmmaker (b. 1988) who holds a BA in Film Directing from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade and an MFA in Film from the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg.

Together, we'll explore his work at the intersection of documentary and experimental cinema, and discuss the broader landscape of independent filmmaking in Serbia. The evening will conclude with a screening of his film Landscapes of War, Landscapes of Peace.

About the author:
Aron Sekelj was born in 1988 in Belgrade, Serbia. From 2008 to 2012, he studied a BA in Film

Directing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade (Fdu Beograd), with one

collaborative feature-length film, “Where is Nadja?”, and numerous short fiction,

documentary and experimental films completed over the course of these four years. In

2012, he moved to Hamburg, Germany to pursue a MFA degree in Film at the

University of Fine Arts (Hochschule für bildende Künste), graduated in 2016 with the

experimental documentary project “Landscapes of War, Landscapes of Peace”.

He is a member of the Association of Documentary Filmmakers of Serbia “DOK Serbia” since

2017 and the organization of Serbian Film Authors “UFUS AFA Zaštita” from 2024.

He is a jury member at Beldocs IDFF 2019 (Short Film Jury), Holywood Serbia Film Festival

2019, MikroFAF 2021 and High Coast IFF 2022. Artistic Director of Open Spaces -

Rudnik Festival of Innovative Cinema since 2022 and member of the pre-selection team

for Beldocs IDFF since 2023. Currently living and working in Belgrade.

КИНОФАЗАН tries to merge our wild and unprecedented love for cinema with our desire to understand the whimsical process behind filmmaking.
Each episode features a certain theme we’d like to explore and a screening of a movie which illustrates it in an interesting way.
The format of КИНОФАЗАН is fluid and open to anybody. The selection of movies is broad, eclectic and doesn’t try to fit in any particular genre, period or movement.

KINOFAZAN: Le Pianiste 


Filippo Giani was born in Cremona, Italy, in 1995. He relocated to Lucca in 2000. Moved to Chicago in 2012, completed high school in the United States. Moved to Heidelberg, Germany, in 2013 to attend Schiller International University.
In 2014 he moved to London, UK, to attend Central Film School (CFS). Earned BA (Hons) in Practical Filmmaking, specializing in Directing and Sound Design in 2016. Wrote, shot and directed award-winning short film ‘Untitled (2020)’
. Became co-curator of WTNS, online Instagram-based platform showcasing emerging photographic talent. Relocated to Canada in 2023. Relocated to Belgium in 2024. He is currently enrolled in KU Leuven, Hoger Instituut voor Wijsbegeerte. Lives
and resides in Leuven.

премества в Канада. През 2024 г. се премества в Белгия. В момента учи в KU Leuven, Hoger Instituut voor Wijsbegeerte. Живее и пребивава в Льовен.
