Bobbina Cultural Space is both a physical and an airy experience:


the steadiness of the architecture with the ethereal of musicality.

Music and visuals unite to speak out for climate-consciousness. We are on a path of losing nature, culture and music, the very origins of the stories of who we were, who we are, who we can become – and what we are striving for. Through interpretations of folk music from Scandinavia and the Balkans, Elima tells stories about the joy and hope that nature brings, as well as all the despair and sorrow it holds.

The project brings together young musicians across musical traditions and cultural backgrounds, and unites them around what we all have in common: nature, our connection to it, and its destruction that we are witnessing. Elima’s constellation of members varies, and has previously included members from Iraq, Kurdistan and Scandinavia. Currently the group members unite the musical heritage of Scandinavia and the Balkans, specifically Bulgaria and Greece. The music of Elima is a meeting of people and traditions, where everything is welcomed and treated with respect, but without fear of new expressions and ideas.

КИНОФАЗАН tries to merge our wild and unprecedented love for cinema with our desire to understand the whimsical process behind filmmaking.

Each episode features a certain theme we’d like to explore and a screening of a movie which illustrates it in an interesting way.

The format of КИНОФАЗАН is fluid and open to anybody. The selection of movies is broad, eclectic and doesn’t try to fit in any particular genre, period or movement.

KINOFAZAN: My Own Private Idaho

The project “YCGILY” aims to showcase the freedom of art in today’s world and to disregard some of the boundaries we often impose on ourselves.

Classical techniques are something without which it’s difficult for an artist to develop. For me, they are a foundation that I can use in combination with contemporary ideas, materials, and methods. I have interests in various directions of art, which is why I’ve set myself this challenge—one that holds difficulties along the way, but at the same time keeps me interested and eager to discover new things.

• The first part represents classical printmaking, created using etching techniques for intaglio printing and presented through three human bodies (each 70/100 cm), which in themselves can express the ideas of submission, struggle, and enlightenment. This is a trajectory of movement that I see in the mindset of an artist. I begin with the classical technique because, despite the goal of YCGILY, this foundation is just as beautiful and profound as the more experimental methods that follow.• The second part consists of 6 self-portraits printed on T-shirts, which I have sewn myself (each 70/85 cm). This is a transitional part, as I combine linocut with fabric and tailoring—something that isn’t always seen as art.
The T-shirts are crumpled, unevenly cut in places, and appear thrown and glued down, because that is the sensation a T-shirt conveys in everyday life. I’ve tried to transform this into an artwork placed in a frame, rather than a piece of clothing meant to be worn.• The third part features three hats/masks, sewn by me and placed on pedestals made of wood and wire. This part is entirely opposite to the first in terms of materials, but that doesn’t prevent it from carrying a similar concept.
These three hats are also not meant to be worn in daily life. They are a product I wanted to transform into an artwork meant to be perceived visually (in this case, as sculpture).

This project is challenging because it’s easy to stray from the core idea or from purely aesthetic representation. I’ve tried to make the boundary between printmaking, sculpture, sewing, and drawing transparent, while also preserving the beauty I strive for as a printmaker, artist, and creator.

Pianist Teodora Tsvetkova will present a program that combines the elegance of classical music with moving personal stories from the lives of the composers.

The public will have the opportunity to enjoy works by Mozart, Schumann, Chopin, Debussy, Schubert, and other masters of the piano art. The program will also feature two original compositions by Teodora Tsvetkova, one of which will be performed as premiere.

The concert is conceived as a journey—not only through music but also through the stories behind it. Through short narratives about the composers’ lives and inspirations, each performance gains a new dimension and reaches the audience as a living message.

This year, the audience will also enjoy a special guest, soprano Teodora Tashkov, who will perform together with the pianist one of the most beloved arias from Bizet’s Carmen, along with other pieces.

През студения ноември Културно Пространство "Бобина" представя 19 млади автори, вдъхновени от романа „Пикник край пътя“ на братя Стругацки.
В книгата Зоната е описана като влудяваща различна реалност, пълна с причудливи артефакти и изкривени природни закони, в която сталкерите тайно проникват, изследвайки както нея, така и границите на собствената си личност.
Всеки от участниците ще представи авторската си интерпретация на артефактите, превръщайки се именно в сталкер, изследващ непознатата територия на вдъхновението.

Multidisciplinary contemporary group exhibition of young artists "Zonata"

In the cold month of November, Cultural Space "Bobbina" will introduce to you 19 young artists, inspired by the novel "Roadside Picnic" by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky.
In the book, the Zone is described as a totally insane and alien realm, full of otherworldly artefacts and unusual laws of nature, in which the Stalkers secretly enter and explore. They explore not only the hostileness of the Zone, but the limits of their identity.
The artists will take the role of the Stalkers and will transport us into the dimension of the Zone with their "artefacts" and interpretations of the described nature.
